Nollywood actress Regina Daniels says she is done with marriage after her separation from Ned Nwoko, but she still plans to have more children and is determined to have a girl.

Daniels spoke during a livestream with TikToker Jarvis at her Children’s Day carnival in Asaba, Delta State, on Wednesday.

“I’ve checked my mind out of getting married. I’m yet to have a girl. And I must have a girl,” she said.

She said motherhood feels different with a girl child because mothers must serve as the primary role model. “Having boys is easy because at least you can groom them to have a role model in a father figure. But for your girl child, you have to be that role model for them to emulate,” she explained.

Daniels admitted she once vowed never to have a daughter. “Before I had my first son, I said no, never. I will never have a girl child. But after my first, after my second… it’s female kids that remember,” she said.

She also spoke on family roles, saying men focus on building new families while women remain emotionally tied to their childhood homes.

Daniels married Nwoko, a senator, in 2019. The marriage drew public attention due to their age gap. They have two sons together.

The union became strained in 2025 after Nwoko alleged she was battling substance abuse and needed rehabilitation. Daniels denied the claim and accused him of manipulation and psychological abuse.

She later moved out and said she is now single.
