A Federal High Court in Abuja has remanded retired Army General Garba Gololo at Kuje Correctional Centre over charges of cyberstalking, defamation, and incitement.

Justice Rita Ofili-Ajumogobia ordered the remand after Gololo pleaded not guilty to a seven-count charge filed by the Inspector-General of Police.

The court adjourned the case until June 15 for hearing on his bail application.

The charges stem from a viral video and Facebook posts in which Gololo allegedly made defamatory claims against Senate President Godswill Akpabio.

Prosecutors say the posts accused Akpabio of making controversial remarks ahead of the 2027 elections.

The Senate President’s office has denied the allegations, calling them false and malicious.

The case continues on June 15 when the court will consider Gololo’s bail application.
