The United Evangelical Church (UEC) has lost one of its most prominent and dynamic clergymen, Reverend Benson Reuben.
He was aged 51.
Until his passing, Reverend Reuben served as the Director of Strategy and Publication of the United Evangelical Church worldwide.
He was renowned for his insightful messages and unwavering commitment to the gospel.
He died on January 19, 2026, in a prolonged illness.

At the funeral service held at the Church’s headquarters in Idah, Kogi State, tributes poured in from ministers and Christian leaders from various walks of life.
They extolled the godly character, integrity, and spiritual depth that defined his ministry.
The Chairman of the Conference of the UEC worldwide, Dr. Daniel Anjorin, urged fellow clergy to emulate Reverend Reuben’s exemplary virtues of humility, respect, love, and empathy.
He described the late cleric as a shining example of wisdom and intellectual excellence, noting that he was sacrificial and selfless in his service to both God and humanity.
Reverend Reuben will be greatly missed by the Church, particularly for his dedication to the Daily Devotional, a responsibility he faithfully carried out.

Many reflected on the significant impact of his contributions and the challenge of filling the void he left behind.
The funeral service was attended by family members, colleagues, mentees, and well-wishers.
Though the atmosphere was heavy with grief, it was equally marked by gratitude for the life of a devoted servant—fondly described as a general in the Lord’s army.
He is survived by his wife, daughters, aged mother, and siblings.
Throughout his ministry, Reverend Reuben served in several local assemblies of the United Evangelical Church, including Gwagwa, Kaduna, Katsina, the National Worship Centre in Utako, Abuja, Makurdi, and Benin.

He remained Director of Strategy and Publication until his death.
His remains were later conveyed to his hometown of Ayeke in Ibaji Local Government Area, where they were buried.
